Bernard Gallay created the company in 1994, and has been a MYBA member since 1996. He is also an experienced skipper: his sailing career saw him participate in two Vendée Globes (1992 & 2000), a fine total of 14 races or transatlantic crossings, as well as the America’s Cup. Since 2002, he has been concentrating on his company and his profession as a yacht broker and CEO.

Nicolas Marchand, Sales director at BGYB, is also an experienced broker and a yacht manager. A seasoned sailor, Nicolas has participated in the mini transat, the Transat Jacques-Vabres, the record for the Mediterranean crossing and continues to sail on all types of yachts from Multihull to Wally. His experience as a sailor combined with these skills in the fields of technical and commercial yacht management allows him to offer sound advice on any type of project. In addition to these brokerage activities, he teaches at the University of Cannes and Toulon to train future managers in the yachting industry.

Audrey has a Master's degree from the Montpellier Business School and started working for BGYB in 2018. After two years in the Sales Department, and another two years as a Charter Broker, Audrey is now in charge of the Charter Department which includes the management of the charter yacht fleet, and coordination with charter brokers and their direct clients, as well as the yachts under management. Audrey is also in charge of the BGYB’s marketing and development.

A passionate sailor, Bruno has been a yacht broker with BGYB since 1999. With more than 20 years’ worth of knowledge about the industry, including a particular expertise on the South of France market, Bruno’s role is within the sales department at BGYB. He is also a skipper and yacht manager of sailing and motor yachts up to 25 meters.

Chloé, who has a Master's degree in digital marketing, recently joined BGYB's sales department in January 2024. In her role, she assists brokers with boat sales and manages customer relations. Her commercial skills enable her to understand the challenges of the market and provide effective support to brokers, while maintaining quality customer relations.

Currently studying Business in Nîmes, Madisson joined the team in September 2023 and works within the sales department, where she is responsible for handling incoming requests and for producing marketing materials for the BGYB sales fleet. She also takes care of listing the yachts on our partner sites. 

Studying French at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom, Pippa began working at BGYB as a Charter Assistant in June 2024. She is responsible for producing and promoting marketing materials for the BGYB charter fleet, managing the profiles of yachts listed on our partner sites, and responding to charter requests.

Graduated of a Master's degree in Luxury and Business Engineering, Lou-Andréa joined BGYB in March 2022 as a Yacht Charter Broker. Passionate about the yachting industry, she has already acquired experience as a Sales and Marketing Assistant in a large well-known shipyard. She deals with charter requests and manages her own fleet of yachts.

Nadia began working at BGYB as an intern in the Charter Department for 12 months as part of her Modern Languages studies at the University of Oxford. She then returned to England to complete her Bachelor’s programme. It was during this period that she decided to come back to France to pursue a master's degree in a well-reputed business school

After spending 6 months supporting the marketing activities part-time whilst doing her master’s, Nadia has now been promoted to the role of Junior Charter Broker & Manager, which she will do alongside her studies. She is responsible for managing the strategic marketing and financial accounting of her own fleet of boats. She also handles the organisation of boat shows and supports the Charter & Marketing Director with press releases.

Auriane is a Master's student in Maritime Law and Management (Master 2) at the University of Aix-en-Provence. She works as an apprentice at BGYB as a Junior Charter Broker & Manager. She will be responsible for managing a fleet of yachts and overseeing the marketing.

Her educational background enables her to support the Sales Department in legal matters.

Thierry Barot relocated to Hong Kong in 1997. His sailing past began in 1986 with his participation in the America’s cup. He has been BGYB’s Asia representative since 2008, occasionally acting as Sales broker and project manager for yacht construction and refit projects.

François Boucher is a successful former sailor who has participated in events such as the 1975 Clipper Race (race around the world) and the Two Ton Cup in 1979. He has more than 45 Atlantic Crossing under his belt, participated in Two Routes du Rhum, as well as, the Ostar and Twostar. He has beaten the transatlantic record and won the Calais Round Britain Race. Since 2008 François has taken on many tasks as a project manager in yacht construction and as a yacht broker with BGYB.

Oscar Relier joins the Bernard Gallay Yacht Brokerage Team. Sailor since his early youth, he brings to BGYB his experience with financiers, private banks and family offices. Based between Paris and Switzerland, his international background supports the development of BGYB's activities with its international clients and partners. He is available for answering your questions and designing a tailor made financing solution for acquisition of your yacht.

Guillaume Gosse is based in Auckland, New Zealand. From sailing, managing and maritime surveying, he has a long history in the Merchant Marines and the yachting industry. Guillaume and BGYB’s relationship dates back to the 2010’s when the two parties successfully collaborated on projects in the Mediterranean. Since 2019, Guillaume represents BGYB for New Zealand and Australia, allowing us to offer a full brokerage service in this corner of the globe.

Stéphane Della has much experience. He has been a broker at BGYB since 2009. As a Project Manager in Construction and Refit Stéphane has worked with several shipyards including: Composites Works, Monaco Marine, XBLUE, Sunrise Yachts, Alia Yachts (Turkey).

Stéphane Della is also "Shore team manager" (responsible for the sailing team of various yachts): Alinghi (America's cup 2003), Votre Nom Autour du monde (Vendée Globe 2012), Maxi one design, AREVA (America's cup 2007)

A former flight attendant for a Swiss airline company, Patricia has a degree in business, is multilingual (French, German, English, Italian) and has worked for more than 20 years in tourism, travel and hospitality. At SCHMIDT YACHTING, Patricia manages customer relations and communication for the Swiss and international yacht market.

Oscar Konyukhov, son of the celebrated Russian explorer Fyodor Konyukhov, is BGYB’s Moscow representative, connecting BGYB with clients across Russia since 2007. His previous sailing career included 5 transatlantic crossings, notably aboard an Open 60, Open 85 and a 100ft catamaran.

Andrea Caracci is a seasoned racer. He is highly sought-after on the regatta circuit having participated in, among other events, two Transatlantic 6.50s. He has been a engineering specialist and consultant at BGYB since 2014.

Sylvain Barielle is an accomplished sailor with over 25 years of experience in the manufacture of sails ; he raced in five America's Cups, competed in several Admirals’ Cup regattas and on the International Match Racing Circuit. His wide-ranging experience includes racing and cruising all types of boats from dinghies to maxi-boats to super yachts.  He is the official representative of BGYB in America.

Sales and charter broker with BGYB since 2014, Youri is also partner. Passionate about sailing since his childhood, Youri moved into the yachting world as deckhand, promoted to First Mate and then established himself as Captain aboard some of the most prestigious sailing yachts from 60 to 180ft, both cruising around the world and on the racing circuit in different inshore and offshore events such as the Maxi World Cup, Voiles de St Tropez and St Barth, Middle Sea Race and Superyacht Cups.

Tatiana has been involved in the nautical world since her childhood and has participated in the Wally regatta circuit for 15 years, including both the Mediterranean seasons (Giraglia, Maxi Rolex cup, Voiles de St Tropez, Rolex Middle Sea Race) and the Caribbean seasons (Antigua 600, St Barth Bucket and Newport - Bermuda). She joined the BGYB team in 2023 with the opening of our office in Palma de Mallorca. Tatiana holds a Charter Broker role and assists our clients in the selection of their yacht, both for cruises and regattas.

Laurent Pagès is a professional sailor competing internationally inshore series and offshore races for 25 years. Afterguard specialist and helmsman, his background goes from dinghy racing to Superyachts, Match Racing to TP52, long range cruising to successful Volvo Ocean Race campaigns (3 podiums including a victory).

At the same time, he developed some extensive technical skills, thanks to various collaborations with some of the most prestigious yacht designer and engineering offices en route to multiple success.

For several years now, he is also project managing, from yacht conception to building process and organize sailing programs.

From La Rochelle and based in New Caledonia, his mobility for action and enthousiasm allow him to represent BGYB in both hemispheres.
