PROVENANCE

Sailing yacht PROVENANCE is a classically designed, auxiliary ketch with the character and style of the 1960’s with the luxurious comfort, amenities and advantages of a modern yacht. Her strength and long range will provide endless enjoyment for local and world cruising.

PROVENANCE is a 29m ketch designed in 1967 by renowned naval architect Alan Buchanan and built in Italy by Cantiere Craglietto Yard no. 62. Her keel was laid in 1967 and she was completed in 1968.

“Provenance is the chronology of the ownership, custody or location of a historical object. The term was originally mostly used in relation to works of art, used in similar senses in a wide range of fields, including archaeology and manuscripts”

PROVENANCE is carvel built of mahogany and oak. She underwent a substantial refit in Malta from 2012 to 2019 where she was completely stripped out, partly replanked, beams and floor replaced with laminated beams, re fastened and sheathed with epoxy. The extensive refit enables MCA coding.

Adding to her stunning lines typical of a 1960’s yacht, the gem of PROVENANCE is her interior designed by Linleys of London. The wood work is spectacular with mother of pearl inlay within the wood work. Each bathroom has a unique mosaic tile feature. Her classically styled interior provides comfortable accommodation for up to 6 guests in a master suite, double cabin and a twin cabin.

Her classical layout comprises mainly of a crew quarters in the forepeak area, followed by the galley and guest cabins on either side of the vessel. A staircase then leads from the saloon to a lower deck where one finds the VIP guest cabin, followed by the master cabin. The vessel’s wheelhouse is located on the main deck.

PROVENANCE ketch rig boasts carbon fibre spars with hydraulically operated in mast furling and sail control systems by Lewmar enabling full single-handed control of the sails from the wheelhouse or outside helm station. Her modern design and large battery bank enable her to sail in silence without generators for over 12 hours at a time using a separate 4 x 24V motor Lewmar power pack.

Provenance has twin Doosan 338kw engines, driving two shafts enables ample power to cruise at 12knots. Combined with the hydraulic bow thrust er she can be easily maneuvered by a crew of two into port and anchorages. Auxiliary equipment includes two Kohler generators equipped with PTO’s, water maker and sewage treatment plant for long term cruising and to comply with worldwide environmental standards.
