Aeolian Islands
This volcanic archipelago lies just to the North-East of Italy’s “island in the sun”- Sicily. These 17 individual islands, each with their own marked character, are the result of 200 000 years of eruptions. Holiday-makers can discover the diversity of this beautiful UNESCO world heritage site.
Between winds and volcanoes
Some of the best views of the Aeolian Islands are captured from the sea. Chartering a yacht allows you to freely and comfortably cruise the idyllic waters of the Mediterranean, catching a glimpse of every hidden cove and surface of this beautiful archipelago.

-
Day 2 Vulcano, Volcanic island and mud baths
A short trip will take you to the island of Vulcano, the mythological workshop of the god of fire and craftsmenship. Volcanic activity on the island is responsible for numerous mud baths and hot springs, as well as fantastic rock formations above and below the water. Great snorkeling is guaranteed in the rich coastal nooks and crannies.
-
Day 3 Filicudi, the island of an ancient past
Filicudi's main attraction is its truly unspoilt nature. Explore the prehistoric village ruins on the Capo Graziano promontory or the basalt caves on the west coast which lie in the shadow of the island's conical volcanic peak. Sail over to Lipari in the evening.
-
Day 4 Lipari, an island teeming in history
As the largest island of the Aeolian group, Lipari offers the widest selection of restaurants, shops, and activities. The charming main town - also named Lipari - boasts a largely reconstructed Norman-era church and fascinating archaeological remains. Hike to the top of Mount Sant'Angelo for spectacular views.
-
Day 5 Stromboli, the island of eruptions
The northernmost island, Stromboli, has amazingly retained a continuously active volcano. The eruptions are best seen at night and from a distance, your yacht will anchor out, situated so that you can enjoy dinner on the aft deck whilst enjoying the views of the volcano. Stromboli is also famous for its deep waters, which are a favourite amongst experienced divers. Head over to Salina in the evening.
-
Day 6 Salina's vines and Panerea's coves
Also known as the garden island, Salina features numerous walking trails as well as extensive viticulture. One of the twin extinct volcanoes with its distinctive appearance, is the highest point in the islands. Nearby, Panerea, the smallest of the Aeolian Islands, makes up in charm for what it lacks in size, with its total absence of cars, delightful jet-setting beach and Bronze Age village.
-
Day 7 Return to Milazzo for disembarkation
Take the time for one last dive off the coast of Salina, Lipari or Vulcano as you cruise back to Milazzo at a leisurely pace.
