LE CIGARE ROUGE
LE CIGARE ROUGE is an Open 60 built in 1991 by CDK Technologies in France and designed by naval architects Harle Mortain. This exceptional racing yacht has built an impressive track record by participating in the most prestigious ocean races, including the Vendée Globe and the Route du Rhum. With five round-the-world races to its name, it stands as a testament to its robust and high-performance design, showcasing the expertise of CDK Technologies.
In 2018, LE CIGARE ROUGE underwent a major refit worth EUR 400,000, including a new rudder and a stainless-steel keel. These upgrades ensure optimal seaworthiness and enhanced performance. This legendary yacht will once again be on the starting line of the Route du Rhum 2022, skippered by Catherine Chabaud, a pioneer of the 1996-97 Vendée Globe. It will be available for sale at the end of the race, either in Guadeloupe or France.
